A Warwick senior citizen who has put on a neighborhood holiday display for decades is saying goodbye to his longtime tradition with a final display this year.
Vincent Poloniak, 83, has put on the spectacular Christmas display at 22 Spanktown Road in Warwick for the past 50 years!
He spends five weeks each year with family and friend getting ready for the display that includes the lights and holiday features.
He says he is sorry this will be his final year, but after all this time, it’s time to let it go.
“You don’t realize when you’re doing something for 50 years how many lives you affect," said Vincent Poloniak. "I am sorry I have to make this decision, but it has to be done and I’ll miss it.”
Poloniak was given a proclamation from the village of Florida mayor this month, recognizing him for his years of community service through his holiday cheer.
If you’d like to see the free display, it’ll be up nights until Jan. 2.
