Residents in New Castle came together for the annual Memorial Day Parade Monday, showing patriotic pride to honor the nation’s military.
Some of the country’s major political figures were in attendance, including former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who have lived in Chappaqua for more than 20 years.
"I woke up this morning thinking about my four classmates who died in Vietnam,” said former President Bill Clinton.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a resident of Bedford, was also at the celebration.
"The threat is never that far away we can say well, that's over, still have a lot of men and women serving, putting their lives in harm's way,” said Cuomo.
The parade stepped off from Ridgewood Terrace onto Bedford Road.
Many roads were closed for the event.
