No matter where you came from or where you were headed, it wasn't the average Friday morning at Westchester County Airport.
A worldwide Microsoft outage caused major headaches for travelers, airlines, and airport employees.
"This is a little unusual," Vivica Wall of Ohio said. "Usually it's ice or snow or torrential rains or something like that."
As hundreds waited for updates, some seeked out alternate modes of transportation.
"American is up to already six percent of their flights across the nation are cancelled, so it's not looking good," Dawn from Poughkeepsie said. "We're just going to drive at this point."
As of noon, things were getting back to normal with more and more planes taking off.
Airport officials say travelers should continue to check the status of their flight with their airlines.
