The city's Administration for Children's Services is looking for ways to ensure the safety of children and protect them from abuse.

Gladys Carrion, the city commissioner for ACS, says the agency is looking at ways to protect children, but she says every New Yorker must do their part.

Carrion says the agency is already in the process of hiring more than 300 additional ACS workers.

There have been a number of child abuse cases throughout the city that have made headlines over the last few weeks.

In Brooklyn, a 2-year-old old girl is brain dead after police say she was violently shaken by her stepfather.

Last month, a 3-year-old Brooklyn girl lost her life in a family homeless shelter after police say her mother's boyfriend beat the toddler for soiling her pants.
