An abused dog left to die in Orange County is now showing signs of improvement while police continue to search for her owners.
The starved pit bull, named "Sweet Sally" by rescuers, was found Wednesday, cold and unable to move, along Route 209 in Cuddebackville, a hamlet of Deerpark.
Rescuers say she had not eaten in weeks and consider her case of abuse to be among the worst they've seen. But by Friday, they say she actually stood up a couple of times and began looking more healthy.
On Saturday, Sweet Sally will be taken to a veterinarian to be checked out.
