YONKERS - Veterans from across the Hudson Valley embarked on a special trip to the nation's capital.
Sixty-five World War II veterans left on an honor flight to Washington, D.C. this morning.
Honor flights are free flights for veterans to visit national memorials and be honored for their military service.
The veterans spent the day visiting the World War II Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Tomb of the Unknown, along with other memorials.
The organizers of the Honor Flight are already taking applications for the next trip scheduled for September.
