The third annual global robotics championship took place Sunday at Rockland Community College in Suffern.
More than 14 local high schools competed in the annual event by FIRST Robotics Competition.
This year's theme was "Deep Space," presented by Boeing.
The event was dedicated to inspiring an appreciation of science and technology in young people.
The winners will qualify for the championships that is scheduled to be held in April in Detroit.
