The region is in for a warm and occasionally stormy stretch this week, but a refreshing change is waiting just in time for the weekend. For today sunshine and clouds will share the sky as temperatures climb close to 90. A thunderstorm could pop up late this afternoon, so keep an eye on the sky if you're heading outdoors.

On Wednesday another warm day arrives, with a mix of clouds and sunshine and temperatures in the upper 80s. It should be a quieter day overall, with no major weather disruptions expected. For Thursday the humidity is bumped up a bit, with highs in the mid-80s. Sunshine and clouds will mix, but the atmosphere becomes more unsettled, bringing the chance of a thunderstorm later in the day.

For the weekend the pattern finally shifts. Friday turns noticeably less humid, followed by a cooler Saturday with mostly sunny skies. Sunday stays seasonable, although clouds will increase.
