Three Yonkers families are afraid to return to their home after the roof of their residence partially collapsed.
The three families were inside when the roof collapsed, but they were promptly evacuated. News 12 is told that no one was hurt, but that the family is shaken up by the ordeal.
The building inspector says it's OK for the people to return to the multifamily home, but the fire chief says that the side of the home is off-limits.
Fire officials say the collapse was likely caused by the home's old age and weather damage. They suggest that all homeowners check their homes often for proper maintenance.
Roof repairs are being planned by the building's owner.
