Three people were arrested for allegedly hiding and discarding a day-old corpse of a 28-year-old woman who was found in a ditch along Unionville Road in Plattekill.
Investigators say the body of Alexis Scanlon was found lightly clothed in a ditch along New Unionville Road in Plattekill on Friday. They say Scanlon lived a "transient lifestyle," and often lived with Angel Delgado Jr., Kristen Green and Lauren Romano at a drug and prostitution house on Third Street in Newburgh, about 11 miles from where the body was found.
Delgado, Green and Romano are believed by police to have dumped Scanlon's body in Plattekill. The trio has not been charged in connection to her death.
Police sources say Scanlon was a known prostitute and drug user, and a longtime family friend of Scanlon's tells News 12 that police believe the young woman died from a drug overdose. Police say an autopsy has been performed and that they're waiting for the results.
Delgado is out on bail, while the others suspects are currently in Ulster County Jail.
