Three suspects are under arrest after a bank robbery in Newburgh Wednesday.
State and local police searched from the air and ground for the trio they say hit the Sterling National Bank branch off Route 300 shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses say two men wearing wigs went inside the bank and demanded money. They did not show any weapons, but one had his hand behind his back.
The suspects stole about $2,000 and took off in a blue getaway car, believed to have had Pennsylvania license plates.
According to witnesses, the three suspects went southbound on the thruway. Police stopped them about three miles south of the Newburgh tolls.
The driver was arrested, but the other two suspects ran off.
Over the next hour, one of the suspects was apprehended by the Crystal Run Healthcare Complex, the other in the Riley Road area of New Windsor.
News 12 is told no one was injured during the robbery and that the money has been recovered.
There is no official word on exactly what charges the three men will face.
