Bronx Legionnaires’ disease outbreak grows to 8 confirmed cases
Among the eight reported cases, two people are currently hospitalized, four have been discharged and one was not hospitalized. One person died.

The New York City Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the Legionnaires’ disease outbreak in the Bronx has grown to eight confirmed cases as of Saturday morning.
According to officials, the cluster is in parts of Melrose and Morrisania, including ZIP codes 10451 and 10456.
The New York City Department of Health said Thursday that five people in the South Bronx had been diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease and that one person had died. As of Saturday, the number of reported cases had risen to eight.
News 12 spoke with Shakeema Johnson, a resident of Mott Haven, who spent most of the past week in the hospital recovering from the disease.
The DOH will also be hosting a virtual town hall about Legionnaires' on Sunday at 3 pm.
