3 men indicted for conspiracy to traffic illegal guns into The Bronx
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office says Jose Tejeda Jr. and Nazaya Gonzalez purchased guns in Virginia with the intent to resell them in New York between December 2023 and May 2024.

Three men have been charged in a 43-count indictment for an alleged scheme to traffic illegal firearms into The Bronx.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office says Jose Tejeda Jr. and Nazaya Gonzalez purchased guns in Virginia with the intent to resell them in New York between December 2023 and May 2024.
The duo was arrested after trying to make a sale to an undercover officer.
The third suspect has yet to be apprehended, according to authorities.
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark praised the work of the officer in a release announcing the indictment on Wednesday.
“These three defendants are accused of bringing illegal guns into The Bronx and threatening the safety of our citizens for the purpose of financial gain, often using social media to discuss payment. This indictment signals the end of this reckless plan. I applaud the investigator who prevented the flow of these dangerous weapons into the borough,” she said.
Tejeda Jr. and Gonzalez were arraigned on Sept. 4. The charges against Gonzalez include criminal sale of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and other offenses.
Tejeda Jr. is charged with conspiracy, according to prosecutors. Both defendants are due back in court on Dec. 9.
