Two Long Island school districts had delays in reporting school budget vote results.

The Roosevelt School District still has not certified their results due to an overwhelming number of affidavit ballots this year.

Affidavits are paper ballots used when a voter's name is not listed at their polling place.

District officials tell News 12 they will release the final numbers once they can verify those ballots sometime this week.

The Massapequa School District, on the other hand, was not able to certify their results until early Wednesday morning.

Officials there say turnout was so unexpectedly high they had to print more ballots, and as per Nassau County Board of Elections policy, those needed to be counted by hand.

“While this may have caused minor delays, the process went smoothly and we were able to provide all voters an opportunity to cast a secure ballot,” Superintendent William Brennan said.

Massapequa’s budget passed with 4,712 yes votes, compared to 2,192 residents voting no.
