Cape May County on Friday marked a bittersweet moment as two capybaras left the zoo for new homes. Keepers said the pair, Gouda and Brie, each around 20 pounds, were moved through a species survival program.

Zoo staff said the capybaras were crate trained and safely transported to their new facilities.

Keepers said they will miss the pair but emphasized that the move is part of helping the species survive.

Brie is now at the Nashville Zoo.
