The East Ramapo school district is proposing a no tax increase for the 2025-2026 school budget, according to Interim Superintendent Anthony DiCarlo during a Monday night meeting about the budget.
The meeting was streamed online.
He also showed the district would receive more money from state aid than property taxes, and next year's budget would also fill job openings.
"As a superintendent, my job is to present a budget that is fiscally responsible and meets the needs of students and we're able to do this at 0%," said DiCarlo.
There will be two more community meetings about the budget later this month. The first on April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Middle school and another on April 30 at Yeshiva Girls in Monsey.
Voters will decide the fate of next year's budget on May 20.
