Poughkeepsie police are seeking your help in finding the people responsible for two separate incidents in the city -- a slashing and shooting.

Officers responded to a hospital around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday after learning of a walk-in stabbing victim.

The girl said she was walking in the area of South White Street and Fox Terrace when a person came up from behind and slashed her in the head, leaving her with a slash wound about 4 inches long. She then added she fell to the ground and the suspect ran off.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Police say a car with a woman and two children was shot at in the area of Carroll and Franklin streets. The gunman then ran off. Police didn't say if anyone was injured.

Both investigations are ongoing.
