Police in North Castle are reminding residents beware of porch pirates as the holiday season gets underway.
Officials say unattended packages make for easy targets. They recommend getting packages from your front door as soon as possible. They say residents can also require a signature confirmation upon delivery.
Instructions can also be given to the delivery driver if you know you will not be home. Packages can also be held by the shipper and picked up in person.
Having items delivered to a post office box is also another option.
