Stony Point Memorial Day parade honors local fallen heroes
The Sheriff's Office, fire department, Navy and marching band from North Rockland High School along with local groups like Daughters and Sons of American Revolution, the Stony Point Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Little League teams and ambulance corps were all part of the parade.

Memorial Day celebrations are underway throughout the Hudson Valley, including a parade in Stony Point.
The ceremony at Mt. Rest honored Richard Brown, a local resident who was killed in action during the Vietnam War, and then the annual parade kicked off.
His brother, Thomas Brown was in attendance to see his loved one honored.
"Someone carrying a radio got shot - he went out to see if he could help him and both of them got a hand grenade," Thomas Brown said.

They marched from Tenyke Street to the Spring Veterans Memorial on North Liberty Drive and then made their way to Town Hall.
Residents who lined the street to watch tell News 12 that it's a must-see event every year.
"I grew up here, I raised my child here, watching parade, my kids marching as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts," said Theresa Bongiardina.
