Two men have been convicted of hiring a Yonkers resident to kill an Iranian American journalist.

Khalid Mehdiyev testified at the trial, stating that he bought an AK47 to kill Masih Alinejad in her home.

He was stopped by police, who discovered the gun in the backseat of his car.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says he and the two men convicted are members of an Eastern European organized crime group.
