The first debate in the Mount Vernon mayoral race was held Wednesday night.
Incumbent Mayor Ernie Davis debated a group of fellow Democrats looking to take over his position. All six candidates got a chance to express their views during the Fleetwood Citizens Society debate.
Of the six candidates, only five will appear on the September primary ballot.
Challenges over signatures knocked Deborah Reynolds out of the September race, but she will run as a conservative in the November election.
