A man is now facing murder charges for a deadly shooting in Yonkers. Police say 20-year-old Matthew Quiones, of Danbury, Connecticut, is accused of shooting 19-year-old Daquon Powell, of Yonkers, last month on Morris Street. Authorities say two teens were with Quiones at the time. Officials say the three ran up to Powell's vehicle and fired shots through the drivers window, hitting Powell and his passenger. Police say this shooting, plus two other recent shootings in Yonkers, are all gang related.
A Kingston man is now facing charges for a shooting in that city. Police say George Decker drove down Cedar Street and fired a handgun from a moving vehicle. They say his gunshot hit and injured a 32-year-old man. Decker is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
A 61-year-old man from Lake Peekskill is dead after being involved in a motorcycle crash. Police say it happened on Dogwood Road in the Town of Cortlandt on Sunday. State police say the driver hit a dead animal in the road before losing control of the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
