Memorial Day weekend turned deadly this afternoon on the Sprain Brook Parkway after a speeding motorcycle rammed into the back of the car.
The accident occurred one mile north of 287 southbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway at around 12:30 p.m.
Authorities say that the motorcyclist hit a red Mazda, causing it to spin out and strike the center guard rail. The car then came back across the lane and struck a second motorcycle.
Police believe the second motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man from New Jersey, died from impact after hitting a tree in the woods.
The first motorcyclist was seriously injured and taken to Westchester Medical Center.
The driver of the car, a 30-year-old Mamaroneck resident, received minor injuries.
State police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
