A Westchester therapy dog is getting ready for another chance to compete.

Buzz is not only a champion on stage - he's a therapy dog for children who need a little extra guidance and attention. Buzz makes special visits to Mt. Pleasant-Blythedale School at Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla as part of the hospital's "Reading with Rover" program. The program is for students and patients in the Mount Pleasant-Blythedale School.

Dogs like Buzz provide children who require medical care a chance to learn in a stress-free, calming environment.

"He can't wait to get out of the car and see his friends," says Buzz's handler Patti Murphy. "This is home. Just to see these children light up, make their day."

Murphy says that not only is the soon to be 3-year-old a wonderful therapy dog, he's a tough competitor who's ready return to Westminster Kennel Club Show next week in New York City. 

Buzz is currently ranked second nationwide for his breed—Belgian Tervuren. This top dog won his first Westminster Show award at just 9 months old and is now returning for his third try at the prestigious canine crown.
