The Town of Forestburgh responded to New York Attorney General Letitia James demand for change after she reported discriminatory zoning in the area.
AG James says Local Law 3 imposes unfair zoning restrictions on houses of worship that discriminate against the Jewish community.
The town rejects her statement saying the law does allow places of worship in every zoning district.
AG James letter also says the town has a lack of transparency in its public meetings.
In response to that, town officials provided examples as to how they fully understand the scope of the open meetings law and recording the minutes for each meeting.
