Police are searching for a 73-year-old Alzheimer's patient who went missing early Wednesday morning from St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers.

Hospital officials say William Smalley was last seen at around 4:30 a.m. Smalley is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and was wearing a long-sleeved brown shirt. Police say he may have gone to the Regency Extended Care Facility on Ashburton Avenue where he lives.

Experts say if Smalley is spotted, he must be approached gently. Police ask anyone with information about Smalley to call 914-377-7299 or 914-377-7900.
