Police in Scarsdale are investigating a body found under a tree in the woods.
Police say a tree worker found an unidentified body on Sherbrooke Road Wednesday. Investigators say the body, which could be that of a man, was partially decomposed and trapped under a large tree. They believe the tree may have come down during the powerful storms several weeks ago. Police also say they found a knapsack with a toothbrush, socks and eating utensils inside, indicating that the person may have been a vagrant.
Scarsdale police are working with the county's crime scene unit as well as Westchester's medical examiner's unit in the investigation.
