Mt. Vernon man dies in motorcycle crash
A Mount Vernon man was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Saw Mill River Parkway early Saturday morning, police say.
Authorities say Michael Sussman, 37, lost control of his 2005 Honda motorcycle and hit the guardrail near the Old Cantina Restaurant in Greenburgh at around 2:30 a.m.
According to police, Sussman was ejected from his seat, landing on the southbound lanes on the Saw Mill River Parkway, and ran over by at least three vehicles. His motorcycle continued to skid another 700 feet.
Police say high speed may have been a factor in the accident. They are investigating to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a part in Sussman's death.
