Monsey schools fined for being open during COVID-19 pandemic

Officials say Central UTA of Monsey and Kahal Shaarei Tefillah were hit with fines after county department of health inspectors allegedly found the schools still in operation.

Two schools in Rockland County have been slapped with fines for allegedly being open when they were ordered to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials say Central UTA of Monsey is one school hit with a $2,000 fine after county department of health inspectors allegedly found the school still in operation.
The other, Kahal Shaarei Tefillah is on Nelson Road in Monsey. 
Inspectors were sent after receiving tips that the schools were open.
Both now have big red violation signs plastered on their doors. 
The administrator at Central UTA of Monsey told News 12 off camera that this school was not opened and continues to be closed. He says he is even giving the Ramapo Police Department surveillance footage to prove it.
