Man stabbed on Yonkers street after baptism party
A possibly gang-related brawl in Yonkers has left a man in the hospital and police asking for the public's help to find his attacker.
Authorities say the 23-year-old victim was walking along Park Hill Avenue with friends around 12:45 a.m. Sunday after leaving a church baptism party. Police say the fight between the Hispanic groups started when some other men walked out of a restaurant.
The brawl ended with the victim being stabbed in his chest and the suspect fleeing on foot. While police have identified the attacker, they have not released his name and are asking anyone with information to call them at 914-377-7725.
The victim is listed in critical, but stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to live.
The incident has put neighbors on edge. "Too much happens here. You are skeptical for your children to go anywhere because you don't know what's going to happen," a concerned resident said.
