A Westchester nonprofit that uses surreptitious videos to embarrass organizations it disagrees with politically was apparently busted in a sting operation that targeted The Washington Post.
The Washington Post claims a woman that works with Project Veritas approached them with a fake story about Alabama's Republican U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore. They say she told the Post that Moore impregnated her as a teenager, resulting in an abortion at the age of 15.
The Post claims that her story was a false narrative constructed by Project Veritas as a way to expose bias in the mainstream media.
Project Veritas is headquartered on Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck and was founded by 33-year old-conservative political activist James O'Keefe. News 12 knocked on the door to get their side of the story but was turned away.
News 12 previously covered the group after it released an undercover video that featured Yonkers Federation of Teachers President Patricia Puleo and Executive Vice President Paul Diamond offer advice to an undercover reporter (O'Keefe) posing as a teacher discussing physical abuse of city students.
The undercover video prompted Yonkers School District and city officials to launch an investigation into the Yonkers Federation of Teachers, and ultimately, charges against the educators.
This time, it seems Project Veritas is facing accusations of its own, regarding its methods of newsmaking.
Roy Moore has refused to end his run for Senate amid mounting sexual abuse allegations against him. He has not yet commented publicly about the apparent Project Veritas plot to embarrass The Washington Post, which was the first outlet to report sexual allegations against him.
