A robbery in Wappingers Falls took a violent turn when two women were reported stealing from a Dollar General store. While officers were in route, another call indicated that the suspects had begun assaulting a store employee, resulting in injuries. The assailants fled southbound on Route 9. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact police at (845) 297-1011.
Frank Wilson and Ray DeGraffenreid have pleaded guilty in separate narcotics cases in Orange County. Wilson sold crack cocaine to an undercover Middletown police officer, while DeGraffenreid was found with 29 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and packaging materials. Both men, charged in 2023, are expected to receive six-year prison sentences when they are sentenced this summer.
A 53-year-old man in custody for allegedly stealing copper piping in Airmont has a history of run-ins with the law. Arrested last week for theft at a construction site, the Suffern man was also taken into custody on two outstanding warrants. He was arraigned and released without bail pending a future court date.
