A family is asking for the public's help for any information about the man who killed a father of three last year.
Police say 27-year-old Albert Luis Rodriguez Lopez was killed after a fight between with Alejandro Vargas Diaz. They say the fight happened inside of a pool hall in Port Jefferson.
Officials say after the shooting, Vargas Diaz was last seen at the LIRR station in Jamaica. They are offering a $5,000 reward for information about his whereabouts.
Rodriguez Lopez was shot three times -- twice in the back and once in the shoulder.
Rodriguez Lopez's mother and brother spoke at a news conference Monday calling for help finding Vargas Diaz.
"We were at the cemetery today, praying for my brother. It's been a whole year since what happened and we still haven't got any information, so it isn't fair at all that someone's life was taken away, especially when he has children. Three children that haven't even got to see 10 years old yet, so it's it's it's unfair. Over an argument, just really unfair, to cause pain to someone like that," says Jason Rodriguez.
The family of Rodriguez Lopez says they are not going to have closure until their loved one's killer is brought to justice.
"I only have peace when I know the guy is in the jail," says Rodriguez Lopez's mother Luz Lopez.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
