A dog that was tied to a tree in Prospect Park a month ago is now living a very different life.
Mamas was left in Prospect Park last month with a note next to her begging someone to take her.
Luckily, a good Samaritan quickly took her to nearby Sean Casey Animal Rescue.
Mamas' story went viral and caught the eye of Adrianne Wilcox, who adopted her.
"I think whoever left her, as sad as it is that they did it, I think they did it out of love. For whatever reason they couldn't keep her," says Wilcox.
The rescue says Mamas had an ear infection and a urinary tract infections when she was brought in.
Not all dogs are so lucky, the animal rescue says they have seen dogs left outside with severe burns and others that were frozen to the ground.
Sean Casey Animal Rescue stresses that those who can no longer care for a pet should ask their local shelter for help.
Though Mamas is no longer up for adoption, Sean Casey Animal Rescue still has plenty of animals -- from dogs and cats to birds and reptiles -- to choose from.
