A new program called Virtual Enterprise International is teaching Bronx students how to start a business from the ground up.

The global program teamed up with Bronx Community College to put high school students in charge of virtual corporations. In the program, the students are assigned to real life roles as accountants and CEOs.

Professor James Simpson says once the students are in the classroom, they are seen as corporate employees. He says the students must use all functioning aspects of a business to actually run their firms.

All participating students who pass the program will receive three college level credits for the course.
