The City of Mount Vernon has partnered with Montefiore to launch the Youth Bureau Health Care Academy, a new program aimed at empowering young women to break into the health care industry.
The academy provides career-focused training and mentorship to help young women succeed in healthcare.
According to Chinyere Mba-Jonas, Senior Director at Montefiore Mount Vernon, "Opportunities like this where we are able to expose students to tell them health care is a great career. There are a lot of different things you can do in healthcare and it will provide a lot of opportunities for the students and their family."
