A young volunteer traded a day of opening presents to partake in his annual Christmas tradition of helping to feed hundreds in Yonkers.
Christopher Frederique is a veteran Sharing Community volunteer at the ripe age of 11. For the past five years, the sixth-grader has showed up to serve food to the less fortunate. Christopher says it?s important to volunteer because many people in the world don?t have what he has. The charitable boy?s little sister also helped greet some 400 people in need of a hot meal Monday.
The Sharing Community served up goodies and 300 pounds of donated turkey.
