Klaudius Kurcz, 18, was working at a summer camp in Ulster County when he went swimming with three of his co-workers. Police say three of the swimmers started having difficulties and called for help. Two swam to shore and a third was rescued, but Kurcz went under before he could be reached. His body was found four hours later.
Kurcz was born in Poland and his family moved to Yorktown 11 years ago. He had just finished his junior year at Yorktown High School. The Kurcz family is seeking more information from Ulster County authorities on their son?s death, including the results of an autopsy.
