A woman is facing felony charges after an injured dog was found abandoned near a cemetery in Yonkers.

Police arrested 60‑year‑old Anita Martin after investigators say nearby cameras captured her leaving a 1‑year‑old pit bull mix on Saw Mill River Road near Oakland Cemetery in November.

Two bystanders spotted the severely injured dog and called 911. The dog, now named Frankie, underwent emergency surgery and is healing well, according to police.

Frankie is expected to be put up for adoption.
