Yonkers residents got into the holiday spirit Friday night as officials lit the Christmas tree in Untermyer Park.
Santa Claus visited the revelers and sang some Christmas carols together to welcome the holiday season.
New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins also attended the event.
"Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah! all of the above! Stay healthy and make sure we remember what the commissioner said earlier: the season is for giving, the season is for love, the season is for sharing, the season is for peace," Stewart-Cousins said.
The crowd also brought gifts that will be donated to Rising Ground to be delivered on Saturday.
