Police say a 19-year-old Yonkers man was fatally stabbed in the chest Tuesday morning, making it the sixth murder in the city this year.
The body of Tyrone Brown was found on Stanley Avenue near Ludlow Street in southwest Yonkers. Investigators say there are at least four male suspects, and one female, though they are unsure of their physical descriptions.
Neighbors say they heard the victim arguing with the suspects before they were startled by a piercing scream when Brown fell to the ground.
Friends say Brown had been released from jail just one day before his death. He was arrested in May of 2007 for possession of marijuana and crack during a drug bust. That bust took place next door to the location where he was killed.
Following the Tuesday incident, detectives scoured the Yonkers neighborhood, searching for clues. According to police, it is still too early in the investigation to know the motive behind the stabbing.
Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call the Yonkers Police Department at 914-377-7724.
