A Yonkers health teacher was removed from the classroom Thursday due to an anatomy lesson that upset students and outraged parents. On Wednesday, a male teacher at PEARLS Hawthorne School instructed students in his seventh-grade class to draw a penis as part of an anatomy assignment. Yonkers Superintendent Bernard Pierorazio said the lesson was introduced in an unprofessional and unacceptable manner. When parents found out about the assignment, many said they were outraged and shocked. The teacher, whose name has not been released, has been given an office job. Officials from the Yonkers School District haven?t said if the teacher will be reassigned permanently or let go.
