All power has been restored to homes in Westchester County following Tuesday's severe storm, but residents in Yonkers continue to struggle with the cleanup.
After spending two nights in a hotel, Mariam Friend returned home and began repairing her damaged basement and garage. Friend is among a dozen homeowners whose houses were badly battered by the storm.
City officials say it will take up to two weeks and cost taxpayers $2.1 million to complete the storm cleanup. By declaring a state of emergency, Yonkers is hoping to receive state and federal aid to help foot the cleanup bill.
