Yonkers Schools Superintendent Edwin Quezeda says his district needs more funds from the state.
While the district is receiving $20 million more than last year, he says it's still $12.8 million short of what the district needs.
The rising costs also mean that there is no money for teacher raises.
"I ask our parents, all our community at large to be vigilant, to be actively involved in the process and recognize that we need more funds for the Yonkers public schools," says Quezada.
