Yonkers school administrators shared how they plan to keep their students safe in the wake of Wednesday's school shooting in Georgia.
The timely discussion comes one day before students in the public school district head back to the classroom.
News 12 spoke with Brian Schulder about the topic. He's the executive director of safety and security for the district.
Schulder says safety and security are always the main priority for the school system.
He said the district has robust emergency management plans, special training sessions and a close relationship with local police departments.
Schulder said parents should also expect to see an increased police presence in and around their campuses.
It's a measure that he said is customary for the first week of school.
