Yonkers residents demand fix for chronic flooding problems
Residents in one Yonkers neighborhood say flooding is a chronic problem and Tuesday’s torrential rain made matters worse.
The residents on Little John Place say they have put up sandbags but it’s not enough.
Resident George Yacoub says his home floods just about every year, and Tuesday’s torrential downpour caused more of the same.

While there is a drain, water still pools on the road. The city came to inspect the area Tuesday, and its solution was to remove a manhole.

Manhole or not, the water still spills over from a creek underneath the road.  Residents have purchased pumps to remove the water, but it still spills into their garages and basements.

News 12 asked the city of Yonkers about the flooding issue. It said that "city workers are out in the field mitigating areas, especially in areas of high traffic and of safety concerns." It did not specify a solution for the flooding problem on Little John Road.
News 12 meteorologists say more rain is in the forecast for Wednesday.
