Friends and family of those lost on 9/11 gathered Friday for a special ceremony at the Yonkers waterfront.
Twenty-six people with ties to Yonkers perished in the attack on the Twin Towers 14 years ago. Each name was read aloud as a way for their loved ones to remember them.
A monument at the waterfront serves as a permanent tribute to those who perished.
Marie Paprocki lost her brother, Denis Lavelle, in the attack. "He's looking down over us and this year is particularly hard because we just lost our mother, but she's with him too now," says Paprocki.
As a final gesture, all in attendance tossed flowers into the Hudson River.
