Thursday was a milestone for some of Yonkers' bravest.
The Yonkers Fire Department welcomed three new captains and seven new lieutenants during a promotion ceremony at City Hall.
One firefighter says he's looking forward to his new role. "It's taking on a new duty. As a firefighter you just have to be concerned with your job. Now as an officer, you have to worry about yourself and the three other men on the rig with you. So you are taking on a much bigger responsibility," says Lt. Andrew Murphy.
Mayor Mike Spano joined with Fire Commissioner Robert Sweeney to lead this morning's ceremony.
