The death of a young Yonkers mother led to a frantic but successful search for her son Friday.
The woman?s body was discovered by Yonkers police in the afternoon. Her 6-year-old son was nowhere to be found in the house. An Amber Alert was issued, but the boy later was found safe.
The woman?s husband, 69-year-old Mario Girau, is in custody and considered a person of interest in the case.
Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact detectives at 914-377-7725.
