A mom in Yonkers issued a warning to other parents on Wednesday after she said her daughter was dropped off at the wrong bus stop after school.
Teodora Gonzalez is a worried mother who said she is looking for answers from Yonkers public school officials.
"The mistake is terrible," Gonzalez said.
She said she filed a report with the district after her 4-year-old daughter was dropped off at the wrong bus stop on Tuesday.
Gonzalez said she heard "nothing" in response from the district when she initially spoke to News 12.
She said her daughter, who goes to School 22, was supposed to be dropped off near Wells and Warburton avenues.
But instead, Gonzalez said her daughter was dropped off near the intersection of Palisade Avenue and Walsh Road.
The location was about a four-minute drive from where she was supposed to be dropped off.
Gonzalez said this made her daughter feel "nervous" and say, 'Mommy, I'm scared.'"
Gonzalez said she was able to find her daughter after a family friend recognized her at the bus stop.
She's grateful for their help but said she is frustrated with the school district.
"Every day [the driver] change[s]. In the morning, one driver and the afternoon, one driver," Gonzalez said.
District officials said they've taken disciplinary action against the bus company.
They also said they have made contact with the family and added that the driver involved has been removed from serving Yonkers students.
Gonzalez said she's now calling on the district to put more than one staff member on each bus.
